Energy Conservation Is Not Just For Buildings: Ways To Conserve Your Most Precious Resource

After the field of ‘time management’ peaked (October 2004, according to Google Trends, with a resurgence each September since then), wisdom emerged that what we should actually be managing is energy. For now at least, time is limited and universal. We all have 24 hours in a day, and statistically about 80 years to live, depending primarily on our socioeconomic status as well as race and geographic home.

On the other hand, much like we’re learning in the field of renewable energies for our homes, factories, and cars, energy is not finite. Nor is it distributed equally among us, or among different days within our own life. And so, if there is more that you want to do, whether that be reading more books, knitting more Christmas presents, sending more money home to family, or spending more hours at the senior center where you volunteer, the answer is finding ways to better manage your own energy.
